That’s what singing is all about: the key to freedom

Singing makes you feel better: is a wise and ancient saying. Those of you who follow me know how much I have fought on an international level to defend this idea, fighting against those who promise to teach innocent souls how to sing, but in reality they just make fun of them, exploit them and above all, ruin their voices. I’ve won this battle at an international level, becoming the benchmark Vocal Coach for many professionals around the world, but ironically my country has become the home of junk teaching.

I invite you to listen to this video testimony in hopes that it will bring some light into your life.

Want to learn how to use the hidden power of the voice?

Mylena Vocal Coach’s series of interviews continues, this time in Donna Moderna, with an exclusive article explaining how to express emotions using the voice, something that seems always taken for granted. Singing is about conveying emotions, of course, but are you sure you know how to do it?
It’s normal for someone who sings to get emotional, but that doesn’t mean he or she is able to convey emotions to others.
If the listener is already emotionally connected with the one who sings, he will see in him some of his own emotions and will not be able to recognize if they are of internal or external origin.
Being able to transmit emotions is not so simple, good reading!

Have you read the interview with Mylena Vocal Coach in Vogue?

Mylena Vocal Coach is in the April issue of Vogue with an interesting interview explaining how to make your voice charming. In fact, singing is much closer to the word charm, or enchant, than intonating.

Too often we focus on the technical part of singing and leave out the more vital part, the emotions. In fact, the technical part can be learned, more or less, even from the least prepared teacher, while the interpretation is often left to chance.

Another great truth of which I am a strong supporter is that the treasure hidden within the human voice, if it is not cared for or if it endures wrong teachings, can be wasted and ruined in a very short time. Few people are aware that you can actually learn something wrong. For example, you can learn wrong how to spell a word, how to perform a calculation and even how to use your voice. There are even fewer people who think, for a single moment, that there can exist also a bad master. When the subject is technical it can be easy to recognize when the master makes a mistake, but with the voice, this can happen when it is too late and he/she has already seriously compromised your voice. That’s why I decided to write a guide and call it “The Art of Keeping a Healthy Voice”.

Video Testimonial from Federico

Here is the video testimony he wanted to release for me, but especially for you, my student Federico. Too often I meet or receive email from young men who remain without voice after singing. Many are self-taught, but the majority come from classes and singing teachers.

The message must be of comfort to you: you can get the voice you had the ability to dream of, if you do things with perseverance, dedication and, of course, the right Vocal Coach!

Singing from the balconies

May 26, 2020 Published by Leave your thoughts

Now that the world is starting again, it makes you wonder how people have had to learn to communicate in new and different ways.
Some have discovered the power of technology and started taking all kinds of lessons online. As a pioneer of this tool, since I’ve been working online with the world for over 10 years, with over 20,000 sessions to my credit, I wasn’t surprised.

But the thing that impressed me the most, and apparently also impressed the rest of the world, reaching incredible numbers on social media, was the desire to communicate and vent their emotions using their voice. It’s nothing new that singing is a good outlet.
Yes, just that singing that started to spread with great success starting from the balconies of many Italian and European cities.

Avoid following the tide of Voice Training

Modern society continues to suffer the decay I mentioned at the beginning, with the multiplier effect of digital communication speed and social panurgism. In fact, if in ancient times the singer’s “managers”, i.e. the people who handled the artists, had to make a living by offering the public “mediocre” artists, exalting them as if they were the best, imagine what could happen today where the media bombards us from all directions.
